right now i have a stock 305 in my blazer, the engine really needs to be rebuilt but id rather just spend the money on rebuilt 454, i know all about the engine i need but im not sure on my tranny, i would like to use my stuck 700r4 and just install a shift kit and servo. This will not be done for a while and just wanted some input on it? any advise and help apprecited, thanks

so what would be suggested i get? im not going to do serious off roading, some weekend riding but it will be a dd, i just really want that power

If you want to stay auto, you can go with a th400 (no O/D), a 4L80E (pricey), or a 700R4 that's been built with every heavy duty part you can throw at it. It all depends on tires, ratio, and what type of driving you will do.

i have 35"s and im just going to be doing daily driver stuff, nothing serious im not sure about my ratio yet, it was recently bought and i think they are stock, im not sure what stock is...but i do want to stay auto, and i want to spend least money possible without cutting corners,
