A friend of mine has a 454 he wants to sell me....i think its a 88 or 89

looking at the previous posts, i need a computer and different headers....Will the rest of my exhaust for my 87 350 work? I just put in a new y pipe and flowmaster system.

In other words i dont want to have to toss my new exhaust.. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Collector alignment and size will answer that for you.
If it's the wrong size(headers useually is 3") or your pipe will not line up with the new location of your 454 collectors. But it might be close???
Going from my 350 to 454 I had 3"collectors and will have them in my 454 too. I won't know if I have an alignment issue until I install the engine....
Good lUck

I have 3" collectors, so its sounds like they are big enough for the 454. excellent...thanks

Now i just need to know if they will line up, unfortunitly the engine my buddy has, does not have any headers on it.

Ya most of the headers I have seen have 3" collectors.
I ran Hedmens on my 350 and I am putting Thorleys on my 454 both have 3" collectors.
Good Luck

I have 3" collectors and 3 inch all the way back, with superturbos, Inviting sound indeed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mine are Dynomax Ceramic-coat, and they stay lookin nice so far

I've got a computer that may work for your motor. New AC Delco TBI 454 computer. PM if interested.
