Ok I know someone with a 454 in a 91 suburban just like mine. he's willing to sell it to me with all parts I need for swap including computer. He says it smokes a little after it sits for a week or so. Think 1000 is a good price? Trying to get things settled.

Also what should I do about the little blue smoke on startup in a 454? valve guides? Thanks for any info you may have.

$1000 seems reasonable.

The blue smoke is often from worn valve guides, so I would look into that before you put it in you Sub.

I paid $450 for mine, but mine is an older one and has 781 heads, and was rebuilt.

In my area it would sell very fast st that price. Especially with all the wiring and other misc stuff to do the swap. I'd try getting for around 750, but wouldn't feel to bad if I paid more.

Fwiw: I paid 450 for my block. But you don't see many BBC's around here.

$1k seems reasonable for everything. Make sure you get all the injection stuff with the computer (harness, etc), get the drive belt set up (serpentine, I assume) with all accessories & fan and see if you can get the radiator also. For $1k it should be a complete swap package.

He says for 1k I can have everything i want/need for the swap including radiator computer and even torque converter if I wanted it. might try to talk him out of the 4l80e to replace mine when it finally gives out.
I'll see if I can get some negotiating done just wanted to see if folks would pay 1k if they had to for a complete running swap
