Ok i have a 96 454 out of a 1ton truck with none of the fuelinjection. I am looking to put a intake for a carb on it what ports do i have thanks denny.

They are most likely peanut ports but check the casting # to be sure They may be vortecs which have a diferent port.

Those look like Peanut ports to me. They are definatly not vortec. Both Holley and Edelbrock make carb manifolds for them.
They call them Peanut ports, because they are the smallest BBC heads made. They have small round ports(some call them small oval) and small valves. But they are a very good head for a offroad truck make lots of torque down low.
If that engine was a TBI engine. You dont have to get a new manifold. You can just take the adapter plate off of the manifold and bolt a Q-jet carb on.

Oh yeah. Thats right. I forgot about the later model TBI 454s did not have the adapter plate. The older ones used a carb manifold and a TBI adapter plate. Dont worry about the pic.
You can get a manifold from salvage yard. Should not be hard to find. Any manifold off a carb 454 with oval ports will work
Or Get an aftermarket one. As far as I know there is no manifold specifically made for peanut ports. GM used standard oval port manifolds on them.
The other manifold GM made for BBC was the rectangle ports. It wont work with oval/peanut port heads.
