A guy I know says that he swapped a 6.2 out for a 454 and used all the diesel acc brackets. Anybody know if this could be true?
Dont think so. Ive had both and they dont even remotely look the same.

I am hoping to make the tbi work on the 454.
my burb currently is 7747 computer and it looks like most 454 have 8747. are they interchangeable? are the proms?

looks like finding a 454/th400 prom for my 7747 computer will make the swap real easy. anybody have one or a good source? I have access to a complete truck, but it is a 4l80 truck with the different computer. I will be getting all the accesory brackets, a few sensors, and the throttle body/ intake from it.

Go to the Fuel Injection section and post. Those guys can tell you everything you want to know about the computer & the swap in general. Many have this setup.
You could probably buy a prom pre burnt from brian at tbichips.com but you might get lucky with someone in the TBI section they might have one they can give you if you have the equipment to burn it yourself.

well since my plan changes almost daily, I think I will wait on the prom till the motor is in and all buttoned up.
I have the 454 now, and it has oval heads, and I am trying to pick a cam (any suggestions) for it. I also scored a good set of headers for it.
all of the tbi 454 trucks that I have driven (not towed with though) have not impressed me at all. Does the tbi system limit them that much or was it a combo of heads and cam?

My TBI 454 with a heavy ass bed towed just fine.

will there be a bad port mismatch between my 781 heads and a tbi intake manifold?
has anybody ever ran a 350 tbi unit on a 454? I know that sounds dumb, but I dont plan on turning it more than 4k.

The 350 computer won't handle the 454, but I think you might be able to retune it to work, and 4k is pretty high for a BBC, so yu are looking at running hard.
4k for a SBC might not be too much.
