454 Swap

New to the forum and looking for advice...I recently purchased a K20 (diesel) which I'm planning on converting to a 454. There is a running 350 SBC sitting in the truck now, but I like the idea of putting in the GM Work Horse! What do i need to look out for, need to be aware of changing and if you feel strongly...why I shouldn't do this?

I'm still debating between rebuilding the TH400 in the truck or having a 700R4 built

Living in calif, is this rig smog exempt?

Easy as long as have all the accessory brackets for the BB.
Use the engine mounts off the engine that is in it. The exhaust will have to be modified.

Make sure you use a BB ring gear/ flex plate,
as the Big Block is externally balanced.

The TH400 is going to handle the big block better. And since you have it, less parts chasing.
