454 throttle body?

i am gathering parts for my next engine build for my 89 k5 i have a 350 that i am going through 9.5 comression i will be going with vortec heads i already have the vortec tbi intake and i am thinking i will go with a comp cams xfi 268 cam 224in 230ex @ .50

here is my question is there any differences in the 454 throttle bodies between years or anything is one better than the other i am about to start looking in the pick a parts for some stuff so while i am there i am going to find me a throttle body is there anything i need to look for

so you want to run a big block throttle body on your 350? why not get a cfmtech ported throttlebody?

yea big block tb on my 350 and wouldn't that be kinda pricey i am on a limited budget and how much better would that be

I'm running a 454 TBI unit on my 350. If you have a 700R4 trans you'll need to address the fact that there is no provision for the TV cable (easy to overcome that hurdle). You'll also need a chip burn as well.

Many people have had issues trying to run a ported TBI and even a ported 350 TBI won't flow what a stock 454 one will.

ok 4x, then will a throttle shaft from a 350 tb fit a 454 tb? that would give you the ability to run the tv cable...

why swap the whole shaft ?

just grind off the hammered over end and remove the arm. swap for a 350 arm and tack weld it in the end like the hammered over section was.

Just get someone to tig weld the TV adaptor on the stock 454 tbi arm. I have done this for a few in the past and its not really that hard to do.

The shafts are different between a 350 and 454 TBI unit. Do like Brett said and just grind the swedge on the 454 linkage and remove it and then do the same to a 350 linkage and tack weld it on (that's what I did to mine).
