i just got a 454 vortec from a 1997 gmc suburban for a great price!:D
i want to swap it into my 1986 k5 blazer. i need some help with some things like the drive train would i be able to run a sm465 and np 205 set up with this? and i will also need some help with wiring diagrams. i have everything for the motor, including

--Uncut Engine and trans Wiring harness, under hood fuse boxes, through the firewall and includes most (some wires were cut short of their connectors 90% complete) of the interior wiring including up to the ignition switch.
--Stock ECU
--All belt accessories: Water pump, Alternator, A/C compressor (with some hosing), Power steering pump, belt tensioner... everything!
--Includes Hydro-boost brake master cylinder(MC) and steering gear box. Comes with all hosing required to get the system up and running... from the Power steering pump to the brake MC and back to the steering gear box (even comes with the factory Power steering cooler).
--Exhaust manifolds

any help would be great!

You seem to have everything covered for the swap. Should just bolt right up, nice find if the price was right.

yeah i got the hole set up for about 200 dollars ;)

now i just have a couple more things to ask

what is better a sm465 or a NV4500?

i would like to have the 5th gear for the road but i also would be going to mountains doing some wheelin. nothing major but i dont want to get something that is going to dissapoint me.

any opinons?

I'm guessing this was the one on KSL for sale ?

I would do the 4500 for the fifth gear, but the 465 would be alot easier to do

not sure if non members can send a PM but send me one if you need some more help or parts or whatever

we have a little group of us that go wheeling every once awhile

we also go to Blazer Bash every year and convoy down if your thinking about going, if your not then you should think about it :D

You will probably need to get a wiring harness from Painless approx $550 & different headers. Also a in-tank fuel pump. Everything else bolts up.... If you have any other questions let me know

will the stock wiring that came with the motor not work?
