454 vortec, what do I need to run it?

I have a line on a high mileage 96 Sub. with a Vortec 454 in it. It also has a "rebuilt" 4L80E w/ 1K on it.
I can get them both for 1200$ and whatever I need to make them work. The Sub is 4wd. I'm not sure if my application will be 4WD or 2WD, but I'd like to pick them up for a future tow vehicle.
I know I need the electronic sensors on the engine, and trans and the drivetrain computer.

Do I need to have something out of the steering column, or ignition switch, or something else to make this engine run?

Should I grab the fuel tank/pump/sending unit also?

grab everything electric. fuel pump, complete vehicle harness, fuel lines, junction blocks, fuse panels, relay panels, etc

So it basically needs the whole vehicle (dash/engine/trans) harness' to be functional?

easily functional, yes. if you want to fab a factory looking dash from the original, that could be rough.

I got dibs on the whole vehicle minus the axles for the 1200....Engine is a core (200K), but the trans is rebuilt <1000 miles ago, and I can get all the electronics the vehicle has and can let it sit til I get at tow rig.
