Im in the middle of pulling a 454 out of a 2000 7500 series chevy truck, and i cant decide if i want to buy the core from parts or not. Its a $300 core and the motors got a lil bit of rod knock. I drained the oil and there wasnt ne coolant in it, so Im thinkin the block is fine. Also might have found me a D60 today too. Ive got to wait and hear back from the guy that owns the truck.

I was thinking this on both counts.

according to GM dealerworld its a 7.4L. The D60 is in a regular cab cherry picker and my buddy is calling the guy today.

any ideas on how to get the stuck fan off? Ive tried a duramax clutch fan tool and a pry bar holding the bolts and it wont budge

nvm decided to just take the waterpump off since its gonna be transfered to the new long block.
