455 mates to what trannys

I have come accross several olds? 455's on craigslist. Will it bolt right up to a standard Th350 or 400?
If it's a BOP transmission it will. I'm building an Olds 455 to use in my truck. I'll be running a SM465 though, the two options I had was to modify a car bellhousing for the 465 or to run a Chevy bellhousing w/ a BOP adapter plate. I'm going the adapter route, they're on EBay for about $35 I believe. You'll probably have to find a BOP TH400 tranny (definitely wouldn't recommend a 350 behind that) and add the 4x4 hardware from a Chevy TH400. That'd give you a "bolt-in" setup.

IIRC there where some 350 tubos that hed both bolt patterns

Correct. Don't know if they ever made dual-pattern 4x4 trannies, though.

Hey, Kane. What's up? I've got a 350/205 that is universal bolt pattern. I didn't realize it until a friend of mine spied it in my garage and started to drool 'cuz he'd been looking for one. I still haven't decided if I'm going to use it.

TH400

My GP has a 455 mated to a TH400.

That's cool. I wonder if it was built like that or if it was modified some time in the past.

I'm running a 350/350/205 combo, myself.

I have a brand new rebuild on a BOPC TH400 with a new TC and reverse full manual VB that coud be had for the right price. Set up for an NP241.
