465/205 gaskets?

does a figure 8 205/465 have gaskets that need to go between them and the adapter? I currently just have silicone and it is leaking, Not sure how well it was done, Napa did not have a listing for gaskets, everyone else just using silicone?

Yes they use gaskets. According to previous posts I read, they are required. Just can't recall if it's because the adapter bottoms out on the bearings before seating flush, or that the bearings don't need the preload.

Go up to six states in Portland, the whole gasket kit is like $4 and they have them on the shelf.

mine came with the transmission whe it came rebuilt, i'd ask a transmission shop if you can't find anyplace else, miine still slightly leaks though, doh! but use rtv and let it try a little so it makes a gaskret better and doesn't just smear all over the place

Buy some gasket material and make your own.

Can you buy thick enough material? The gaskets used that I had are double the thickness (at least) of the gasket making sheets I've seen.

Get the correct ones. They need to be the right thickness.

hey so does anyone know where i can order these online? i have the older 465/205 and its leaking everywhere seems like. im doing my hydro clutch soon and would like to redo all the gaskets whiles it out.
