Does anyone make a stronger replacement clutch rod for a truck with a sm465? Thanks.

yep some hear have. grd 5 threaded rod and hiem joints with jam nuts to lock it down. then if need be small bend in rod and if more strength is needed weld a gusset in place. i dont havve the pics but a search should pop them up.

Is there a problem with the OEM clutch rod? I've never had a problem with it.
After 200k mi, the ends are a little worn and got sloppy, but that's about it.
I put a brand new one in during my Frame off.
My buddies truck had realy rusty body mounts, every time he pressed the clutch, his body would lift off the frame a little, but no problems with the rod?

The ends are worn so bad that they are about to break off.

I've slid over and welded a hunk of 1/8" pipe or 3/8"rebar on a few rusted clutch linkage on plow trucks,to get some more use out of one...had to weld a brace on the "Z" bar on a few trucks with 12" three finger pressure plates too--they flex and eventally crack if you leave it stock...
