465 flywheel/clutch ?

on the 18th of next month im putting my 465/205 in my blazer.
the tranny is the 10splin out of a 79 ,1ton i think. it is going in a 89blazer with tbi350 just wondering what size flywheel and clutch i needed to buy for this i did'nt know if i need one for 89 or 79 or what? any help would be great thanks ,Keenan
 
I think the clutch is the same for either one. Only difference being mech over hydraulic.

You will need the truck type flywheel that has 168 tooth count and it must be for a one-piece rear main seal style crank pattern.

Yup what he said. Cant use the old style flywheel from the two piece main seal engines.
The good news is I went to Advance Auto and they had one on the shelf for right around a hundred bucks. :waytogo:

awsome thanks , so if i just buy the clutch that matches the flywheel im good right? :D for the hydro setup that is.

yes, should be 12", and make sure the spine count of the disk matches the input shaft

Some parts houses might list the 12" clutch as an 11-7/8" but do not woory - it is the same animal.

good to go! just wanted to make sure of everything before i bought it and put everything in and dont work, or run into a problem. THANKS for the help should make everything much easier for me. :D
 
If you have a little extra money for the clutch, go with a 12" Luk pro gold. Best clutch I have ever used by far.

ya i need a really good clutch should have plenty of cash for all of it.
