pair of decent size pliers work great, bite the dome top deal around base of the shifter in tp of tranny, it is sheetmetal pressed dome shaped part, it sits in top of tranny case by two roll pins in from three and nine o clock postions when lookinf straight down at top of tranny
push down on thye dome while gripping the dome with plier jaws and turn it counter clocwise it is "spring" loaded upwards to stay hooked on the roll pins
youll see how and why once you get it undone
its real easy and basic once you get it
and neutral is best position for removal yep
it will come right out and it is pretty short end of stick inside there
