Can anyone here make an adapter for a 465 to 203? I have the trans and soon the t-case, but have yet to find the adapter without buying a whole truck. I havent seen any aftermarket companies that make one either.:dunno:

There's a complete blazer a few hours away; dude wants $1k, but the body is shot. Muncie and a 203 with a part time kit. I dont have a grand nor do I have the storage for another vehicle (3 Burbs in base housing:eek1:).

Wont the adapter from a sm465 to a doubler setup work??? I thought people did that all the time?

The doubler adapter goes between the 203 & 205, you still need the OE adapter between the trans & 203.

If ya got the wheeel base, a 208 adapter will work if you redrill the facte of the 203..

I know that. I guess I didnt clarify. I meant to say Dont the adapter companies sell a sm465 to 203 adapter for when manual guys put doublers in their trucks.

Nope

Seems like one of the companies (ATOR/WMS maybe?) made a 465/203 adapter at one point, was $400 or so IIRC. Not enough people bought them so they stopped making them I think.

Would you guys who are looking for them be willing to pay $400 for them? For most, I doubt it.

If I were building a 465/203/205 I'd use the 465/208 adapter and drill/tap the 203, its pretty quick and easy.

When I did my google search, I saw a jeep forum that had that in the brief description showing my search words, but when I opened it, I couldnt read anything (possibly because I'm not a member?), so I never found out what the topic was and how to make the adapter work.

Well now my search goes in another direction. I'm going to try locally to see if a company would be willing to machine the adapter and maybe I could sell them here to folks like me. They'd have a monopoly on the market (even if the market is a couple of us on CK5). Possibly a universal adapter to match other versions of the 203 to a 465. I assume that all the 203's use the same mounting face, just different spline inputs? What about using a 2wd 465 with the tail removed and a kit to convert it to mate a t-case?

Thanks cybrfire and 38377k5 for your input. Hopefully it helps someone else with thier search.:D

I found mine on here for $25 a few years back. Lucked out big time. I have seen them go for as much as $500 on ebay.

i've been trying to track one down also for future use. only have found one in a dump truck, but would have had to buy the whole thing, and didn't have the extra cash since i just bought another truck for a big block.

hmmm, my 465 is a true 1ton, so iirc it is a 32 spline, what do i need to put a doubler behind my sm465, will that adapter work? did they make a 32 spline input 203? anyone planning on bidding on that adapter? i'd hate for a fellow ck5er bid also, and we drive the price up for a fellow ck5er.

As much as I'd like to have it, I dont have $300 bucks unless I use my CC. So if you have the cash, go ahead and get it.

i want to make sure its what i need, that adapter & a 32 spline 203 input, what np203 do i need? 1 from behind a th400 would be a 32 spline input, correct? if i just got this adapter, could i buy a 203 input for 32 splines and use any 203 range box, or would it need machine work, the same as converting a 27 spline 205 to a 32 spline input?

If you can weed through the bad tech and mis info, this thread has all the 203 info you will need.

If your 465 is a factory 32 spline unit,I think that 38377K5 in that thread describes the option you might be looking for :D

The only thing that bugs me about the eBay ad is that nowhere in the ad does it say 465/203 adaptor and there are no pictures of the mounting faces.

If I could get a 465/203 adaptor in my hands I could get them made. But there is a reason other vendors are not making them.
