I have a 1972 Blazer That's in full teardown mode. Trying to decide exactly how I want to do the suspension.Has anyone used DIY's front spring hanger and used a 73-87 47" front spring? It seems to me that you could get a slightly longer and flexier spring while moving the axle forward a bit and still use the stock rear shackle mount maybe with a little longer HD shackle. And before you go crazy, it's possible that I missed it somewhere but I have searched like crazy and could not find anything specific on what I am asking!! Thanks ahead of time fellas!

I have used 7 leaf waggy springs and toyota lift springs with great luck. They have a lower spring rate for flex and ride. Not 100% sure, but I am estimating that 5" toyota springs (allpro springs for a first gen 4runner / pickup) give about 5" of lift and move the axle forward about 1 inch. You will just want a bit longer shackle.

I used the longer springs from the newer trucks in the front (springs were 6" lift). Put a longer shackle in the rear and left the front spring mount alone. It travels much better than the shorter springs.

What you want to do would be even better since moving the axle forward will help with stuffing a tire into the rear of the front wheel well.
