I just got an old late 80's/ early 90's 4 amp sawzall that is new in the box. It sat for decades. I could not bear buying a new one made in china. It would have been nicer to get the super sawzall with the variable speed control. I heard when you get past 8amps it does not make much a differance.

I'm go to use this to cut out sheet metal patch panels from the doner K5. First I'm going to try it on a tree to see how it does. Anyone else have the 4amp sawzall?

sawzall for body panels? rough cuts and you could damage the metal with such long strokes... the best thing i have found for cutting metal panels, aside from plasma, is a nibbler..

i like using the small air cut off wheel.. i dont use it on long cuts but for the small stuff its great..

There is both a outer and inter rear quarter pannel. So I don't think the cut off would reach both. My plan was to rough cut it with the sawzall then go back and trim it to fit. Is that a good plan? This is my first patch job on the rear quarters.

is this a Milwaukee red one that comes in a metal case? That's about as far back as I go. We use Hilti sawzalls and Bosch hammer drills, the most $$$ in our arsenal.
