4l60/4l80e transmission fluid. What are you guys runnung?

After my Scare this morning, I figure giving the 4l80e a flush would not hurt. I would be putting a synthetic in to match the engine. What are you guys running? I hear good & Bad things about Royal purple but my trans says Dextron II, what are good replacements for DEX II? should I stick with what the factory would use?

dex 3 .

always can go up to a point but dont go down.

dex 5 or 6 stuff is now diffrent and not best in older.

I would stick with Dex III, Dex VI is sythetic but it will make it shift different with a trans tuned on Dex III. It tends to slip a little in the beginning of the shift and then grab more at the end with Dex VI in an older electronic trans.
