How much, generally, do 4L60 E rebuilds cost?

This is if a competent shop does it; i'm not going to try this at home, kids.

Actually, let's also just talk about 4L60's in general. Anything else i should know about etc.?

The 4L60 in my colorado has crapped out, because-----you guessed it-----the 3/4 clutch pack is toast.........:frown

The Colorado uses a unique 4L60E so it is best to have your unit removed, remanufactured and reinstalled due to very limited interchange. I would budget $2800-3600 depending on the shop, damage to trans/modifications and region.

Thank you.

What ways is it specifically different from other 4L60E's?

Also, my truck is 4x4. i don't know if this complicates matters........?

Differences include the case, pan, valve body, accumulator housing, input shaft, pump, torque converter among others. Removal and installation labor are more expensive than the half ton trucks as well.
