Does anyone know if the 4l60e tranny will bolt up with my 205 t case? Will I need any adapters? I currently have a turbo 350 tranny, and I know it's due for attention soon. I have the computer and everything for my vortec, the engine came out of a 97 Yukon. The tranny came out of a 98 4x4 Yukon.

Reasonably sure that the 4L60E is a new iteration of the venerable and much-maligned TH700R4.

I suspect you'll have to fiddle with the output shaft on the tranny, but that depends on what kind of '205 you have, i.e. what it came off of (auto or stick, brand, etc.)

You will need a 205 that was originally from a TH350 with the 27 spline input gear with the drive sleeve to go with it, then you have one of two options next. You either need to tear apart the complete tranny and replace the output shaft with the AA short shaft but doing this depending on which CV front shaft you use the driveshaft may hit the tranny pan, or you can use the spacer with the stock output shaft. You will need a TH350/205 adapter as well. This is all assuming you have a 4WD tranny and not a 2WD tranny.

Advance Adapters sells an adapter that will mate a 700R to a 10 spline 205 case so I imagine it would work with the 4L60 as well

the 96 and newer 4x4 4l60Es have a 6 round output, similar to the th400 no longer the 4 bolt. i don't know if they are the same as the th400 but looks very similar. they still have the 27 spline output /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

4L60E's have a 4 bolt just like the TH350 and 700R4, the 4L80E has the 6 bolt like a TH400.
