i just got a 4l60e, and im puttin it in my 2wd 72 chevy sortbed. and i need a transmission controler for it, and wondering if anybody knows whats a good route to go for this part.

i would like to run fuel injection, but im trying to keep the costs down on this 2wd shortbed down. so i can put most the money into my 72 4wd crewcab. is there a less expensive way to do fuel injectoin with stock parts.

you could go with TBI form a 93-95 fullsize, get the harness, computer injection and tranny, theses years used the 4l60E and TBI, then in the future if you wanted to upgrade to TPI all you have to do is bolt it on and do a few minor changes to the wiring harness

TCI has a standalone controller that you can tune via PC. It's around $700 at Summit I think. I agree that TBI is a good form of injection. But if I was starting from scratch I'd consider TPI as well, they cost about the same amount to build. Injection gets trickier the wilder your engine gets. A good Q-jet may not be quite as good as FI, but it can be close. A JET unit runs $350 or so, and is a lot simpler.

i already have the 4l60e, not sure of the year. but can i just get the harness ,computer ,and tbi unit. or is there year differences to look for.

what year is your tranny? the only difference is in the late 94 and 95 harnesses the TCC lock up is different but all you have to do is swap the selnoid if you use a later harness

is there a way to tell what year, the guy i got it from didnt know.

it is a one peice and it does have the electrical plug hookup on the side.
