If I were to get a 4l80e/241 combo from a newer IFS rig, would a passenger drop 208 from a th400 bolt right up? I searched, and everything seems to be related to bolting up a 205.

I got a 4L80e out of a 95 K3500 with the 6.5. I had a turbo 400 with the 208. My 208 mated to the 4L80E just fine

That's what I was hoping. So the 241 adapter worked fine then? A 208 works fine for my needs, I don't see any benefit in dropping the cash on a 205 and making the swap more complicated. I may splurge on a 241 though if it's got the cable speedo.

IIRC isn't there an offset hole on the adapter? If so nothing a little die grinder work can't handle.

Everything bolted up, no mods needed. The only thing was the bottom bolt for the transfer case is kinda of a PITA to put in with that adpater.

Don't you still need to run the 4l80e/241 adapter? I've read the mounting foot for th400 adapters hits the pan flange on the 4l80e. And the alinement steps have different diameters.

Edit - Forget it. I figured out the answer is yes.
