I'm looking for a a 4L80E converter cover that has the brace mounts. I actually need two of them. They are different from the TH400 because the
The TH400 and I believe 4L60E have offset brace mounts and the 6 bolts start closer toward the bottom.

You can see the mounting ear on the right side is closer to the center and taller. Also, the bottom two mounting bolt holes on each side are very close to the bottom. Like this TH400 cover...

The 4L80E has the brace mounts more spread out, and the bottom two holes start a little higher up, like this black one...

I also need a gear shift indicator for an OD trans, just one.

I think the one you pictured as 15671932 is the one I am looking for, that helps, thank you. Though it appears to be discontinued.

That appears to be the same as my second picture.

Do you know why can't you see the pictures? They are visible to me and you are a member? Is it something I need to change on my post?

To add to my above response...I deleted the pictures and reattached them, can you see them now?

Does anyone have one they want to sell?

Is this place legit?

Also, it appears the one Luke mentioned has the taller boss for one brace like this, but does have the moved bolt holes for the 4L80E. So does anyone know what this one is? It would clear a wider oil pan better it appears?

Taller, more centered boss opposite side of starter...this appears to match the TH400 braces but with a 4L80E mounting pattern.

Lower boss spaced wider, this one looks to have the 4L80E mounting pattern but with a wider brace spread...

Do you have a TH-400 cover to try? I thought somebody told me they interchanged, but I'm unable to find any measurements.

Yes, I have a TH400 cover, the bolt pattern is shifted where it bolts to the trans, different enough its not worth trying to make it work as it would require cutting and welding, etc. I'd like to just buy the correct one for a fair price. One is for a customer vehicle, the other I may used for my blazer project, unless I just install a solid midplate on that one. I have a TH400, a 4L80E, and a 700R4 on the floor for comparison. But don't have a 4L80E cover.

Heath, don't order from oemcats. It's a scam site....

Thanks for the heads up, it was looking that way by the website, which is why I asked if it was legit.

Anyone got a used one?

I should have one stashed away that I no longer need. It's from a 91 v2500 burb...gonna go see if I still have it and upload some pictures.

Edit: no dice, it's a th400 cover. Not sure why I even have one for a th400... Or where my 4l80e cover went.PXL_20230516_015829719.jpgPXL_20230516_015832610.jpg

Would a 96 2500 burb have the cover you need? I took one apart and have the transmission and such yet.
Big pile to dig through for it is the only reason I ask.
Don't want to dig through if it for sure won't be the one lol

Thanks for looking guys.

I found half of what I am looking for and learned some more. I found one for the 4L80E with the Gen VI BBC for the suburban I am working on. The 502 oil pan actually clears the angled bars for the TH400, I am hoping the same for this one, and I believe this one clears the Gen VI rear main seal, that last one I had to manually clearance for that.

I also learned the one from the diesel with the 4L80E is the one that has the wider brace mounts, and might clear my Moroso oil pan better on my 489. However, if not, I may just have to put a mid plate in to brace it. I'll find some pictures and I believe I have some part numbers.

I am not sure what year they stopped bolting the braces to these covers, but I would guess it would be when they switched to the 8100, and possibly the 6.0 for the HD2500?

The newer (gmt800 and up) 4L80E stuff looks like this.

They have a couple bolts that go straight to the engine.

Yep, that's what I was referring too, at some point they switched to that, so there is a relatively narrow window where they made a 4L80E cover to bolt the braces too. And apparently there are at least two versions of 4L80E cover with the braces, gas and diesel. You can still buy the one beags posted above new, I can get it through my distributor.

That style was made to bolt to an LS cast oil pan for bracing.

So maybe you could slide a piece of plate steel in between your 489 oil pan and that cover to bolt to. Then build some mounts off the frame.
Like a mid plate, but not one that mounts the bell bolts.

I think the change is concurrent with the LS-style engines.
