How much is a 4L80E suposed to let into the adapter housing? I'm installing a clocking ring on my 241 and when I removed the T-case ATF came pouring out of the adapter. I removed the 241 once before and that didn't happen, it was pretty dry in there. I have a jack under the adapter housing and ATF seems to be leaking from a weep hole around the input at the back of the transmission. When I jack it up flat it stops leaking? Is everything normal or is a seal leaking?

That's normal fluid always falls out for me. The transfercase is sealed the trans isnt

thats fluid from the pan leaking out the back. its normal

and the tcase is sealed on the input gear.

there is a gasket in between the adaptor and tcase also. and the oring at tranny and adaptor.

I guess I must have had it at a flatter angle when I seperated it before. Thanks:D

How about the NP241? It leaked quite a bit when trying to install the clocking ring. It's not easy to reinstall the 241 with RTV when there is ATF leaking from the front of the transfer case and the back of the transmission at the same time getting the RTV saturated. I thought the 241 was suposed to be sealed at the front? Or is it the same as the tranny, when mounted they seal up?

Bolt holes, vents and slip yoke should be the only thing leaking(at least on my 208). Thats why I used the dodge mounting studs when doing the conversion in the hope that if I plug the vent I can remove th xfer case to change the tranny.
