ANyone know of companies selling non-lockup Torque Converters for the 4l80E? Also anyone besides TransGo that makes a full manual conversion? Looking to pickup a 4l80E for my rig.

However being a propane powered setup, its going to be full manual and non-lockup converter.

I know PATC sells this stuff, mainly looking for someone BESIDES them. I don't get why their non-lockup converter is like $50 less than a lockup converter. I'd think there is less going on inside there and less materials put into it. I will likely end up with their converter and full manual kit, just weighing options. $800 just for a converter and "shift kit" kind of sucks.

i'll have to check with a buddy, but I think you can run a th400 converter in it instead of the lockup one.

I know a lot of things are shared and can be swapped, if thats true it sure would save me a lot of money! Can get a nice converter for a TH400 for under $200 vs the over $400 for a 4l80E converter.

Found that Art Carr makes a non-lockup converter, but there is no option of stall rpm and its slightly more expensive than the PATC one at $475.

Keep us updated on the tranny build! I'm interested in the same set up as well.

And don't forget the pics :D !
