Does anybody know the output shaft part number for a four wheel drive 4l80e?? I tried "search" and came up with nothing..

are you looking for a GM part number or aftermarket. i can give you an aftermarket, but im not sure who all its good threw.

just looked it up, there are 5 different shafts, none are labeled 4wd. just the lenghts are given for 4 of them.
here are the numbers
34980 7 3/8" long - short spline - w/ Oring
34980A 7 5/8" long - long spline - w/o Oring
34980B 8 1/2" long - short spline - w/ Oring
34980C 4 3/8" long - short spline - w/o Oring
34980D (LHD)

btw these are listed to fit 91-96 only. i have no other listing for these.

I am needing the GM number so I can order the output shaft to go in the tranny. Would be much easier to order if I had the part number. I hate trying to deal with the idiots behind the parts counter at the local dealership.

Is this for a 205 swap per your signature? What adapter are you using and what input on the 205 are you using?

In order to use the standard 4wd output you will need a long input 205. If you are using a short input 205 you will need a 2wd output shaft and cut it to length.

You may know all this just wanted to make sure.

I think that 205 would have the long input but I am not 100% maybe someone else will chime in. Have you seperated the 205 from the 400 yet?

Being a 1990 400/205 it should be a long input. Have not seperated it yet. Still driving the truck until I have all the parts ready to do the swap.
