Recently mated a tcase to a 2wd 4l80e tranny. I plugged the hole in the tail housing to maintain line pressure. What about the upper hole? I think it is draining backwards into the tcase whenever i park on an incline (nose up). I keep losing tranny fluid yet have no leaks.

There’s a hole at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. Fluid should drain back into the case from the bottom hole. How much fluid did you put in? 4l80e torque converter will hold 4-5 quarts and the case almost 8.

It's the hole at 6 o clock that i believe is allowing the fluid to drain. Any reason i couldn't plug it too? I plugged the one at 3 o clock.

did you pull the fill plug on the 205 with a catch pan under it ? this will tell you if its going in the case .

does your adapter have a seal in it to keep the 2 halfs separate ? did the seal get put in the wrong way ? spring on seal to the oil/grease being controlled . i did this wrong 1 time on a th350/205 combo . i kept getting atf in the tcase . had to pop it out and install new seal the correct way .

I keep losing tranny fluid yet have no leaks.

Is the transfer case overfull now?

Does your engine coolant have trans fluid in it? (if you have a radiator with integral trans cooler)
