I have a 1997 4l80 e 2wd trans swapped into my project truck, I have it mated to a five point three liter truck motor. I'm using a manual controller. It basically turns it into a manual valve body. It's been working fine for the last six months. And then one day, when I shifted from third to fourth, it felt like the truck was under heavy load. And it started pushing transmission fluid out of the dipstick. I've replaced the valve body and made sure that the vent isn't plugged, but none of this has fixed it. And i'm stumped, and i'm wondering if anybody else has come across this issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The transmission has very low miles and it was super clean when I installed it when I dumped the pan. After that happened, there was a bunch of clutch material in the bottom. It wasn't a ton, but it was definitely some.. I'm new to this forum. I apologize if this isn't the place to ask this question.

Did you do the wiring for the manual shifting?
Did you check if any of the wires are damaged or unplugged?
I don't know if it's possible but if you activated 2 solenoids at the same time the transmission would be fighting itself.

It's an actual controller, it's super simple. And i've replaced that controller with one identical to it.And all of the solanoids plus the internal wire harness, and I replaced a valve body

Both solenoids are normally active to give 4th gear. I don't know what happens if the manual valve position doesn't match that, but it's probably worth checking the shift linkage to be sure it's selecting the right gear. How does this controller know which gear you have selected? Is it actually doing nothing and just connecting the internal pressure switches to the solenoids?
