4L80E Swap

The ole '85 GMC has been leaking tranny fluid for quite some time now and also dumping straight thru to the TC...so after much thought and being tired of adding fluid all the time i decided to pull the trigger and swap in a 4l80e/205 combo out of a '91 i parted out last year.... .i've read and re-read many 4l80e swaps - the people who have done this have had nothing but good to say say about the benefits of doing it so here i'am about to start it soon as the weather stays above 20 degrees or so...pic of the tan "turd" thats gonna go under the knife!...Truck currently has the factory 454/TH400/D60/14FF 3.73

Just an idea... but for the cost of all that controls for transmission you could probably do a TBI injection swap using the PCM that came off your donor and break even...

Wow! Could you imagine using that as a daily driver? I think that would get old real fast.
