Wasilla AK,
I read some where that if you remove the 4L80E from a TBI truck it will cause weird issues with the ECM because its no longer getting a signal from the trans,

What's all involved in removing that stuff with out ruining it ?I'd like to use it in another project.

I have a Factory 91 R and V series Wiring Book, I'm just hoping its all gonna be a no cutting type of deal

GM efi's need a speed sensor to operate correctly.
As long as your trasfer case has a hole for a sensor and the reluctor ring on the output shaft, you should be good.
Or dakota digital makes a speed sensor that goes between the speedo cable and the t-case.

The early ones don't. 1987-1989 TBI uses mechanical speedometers.

Its a 91 R3500 so its a 2-wheel drive , BUT I do have a 4L80E/NP205. which I might use if time gets short, But I want to use SM465 doubler setup

use the 205 from the 4l80-e with electric speedo on it. then swap the prom in the computer to a stick shift prom. should solve the problems.

Could i use the Non VSS NP205 with the Dakota digital adapter???

I just Don't want to split up the 4L80E from its matching 205

I would reprogram the PROM to manual trans, and figure out a way to send a 2K VSS pulse directly to pin F16 on the PCM.
