this is a friends new truck. Got it with the 4l80e and it ready. it's from my 91 3/4 Ton suburban. coming in my driveway we heard this bang noise a few times going down the driveway the truck shuttered a bit. Don't know the mileage on the transmission. It is all stock. Any ideas what this could be?looked all over didn't see anything. thanks guys

are you using all of the sensors as well?

My thoughts are coming from torque convetor lockup mal functioning or improper shift solenoid activation.

There are many out here that know a bunch more than me, specifically Greg Ducato...he's a trans specialist.

damn I wish those were easier/cheaper to swap in.....it would be perfect for my 'burb

I don't think they're too expensive. My friend got this truck for a really good price. For the most part it did bolt then. The previous owner said he had to drill a few holes. Did a good job putting it in looks almost factory. it's the computers of the sensors that I don't know anything about really. That's the problem. Don't want to drive it and have something blowup. I talked to one guy that knows transmissions he said the early years of that transmission are not that good. They had some problems. Probably going to take it to a transmission shop. This is over my head

there not rocket science people. just a th400 with overdrive and lockup .

you can run them with as little as 1 sensor on some kits. or even man valve body kits if you don't mind shifting a auto .

few guys on here using this kit and love it . http://www.usshift.com/index.shtml use to be called optishift . but they changed name .

got to start from scratch and make a list of whats hooked up and whats not . also look to see if there is any names on stuff to give you direction on whats been done.

then once you got that down post back up .

took off the covering. this wiring is shot. spiced together allover the place. one splice fell apart in my hand. few wires dont go anywhere they were cut. this sucks.. need fins some wiring now
