4l80e ?

What years had the standalone controller for the the tranny. Buddy of mine has a 90 model diesel truck that I can get parts from.


Also what would the controller be worth with the wire harness and just the controller by it self.

IIRC 91 was the only year. I happen to have one but my tow rig aint gettin parted out anytime soon .

if its a 90 I dont think its a 4l80e

91 was the first year of 4l80e. Diesels with the 4l80e and mechanical IP would also have a stand alone controller. I believe it was up to the 94 model year however I know 91 is the first year of that trans.

Late 91 and I thought only in 3/4 tons as well.

I've never done the swap but I would not think it would be all that hard if you can get the controller to go with.

Likewise, in the other 4l80e thread you could upgrade to a new ECM and have that control both your EFI and your tranny.
