New project, 1987.

Blown head gasket.

goal is to get it running, upgrade as time goes by. already got a solid axle lined up for it, need to find a rear locker once I get it running.

It was her birthday present!!

A Toyota V6 with a busted head gasket? What are the odds?

Read up on that 'fore you put any work into it ... IIRC there was a fix for it, but I donno that just machining the surfaces and replacing the gaskets is enough.

if yota v6 scrap it and swap in a 4.3 chevy.

those yota v6 eat head gaskets or bottom ends.

Unless someone swapped it in,those were not available with a 6.

Eh? Donno if they go that far back ... but I know the 90's ones are FAMOUS for that, the recall is legendary...

v-6 came out in 1989. this is a 22-re, and I know a guy that had over 200k on his 3.0, taken care of, they're fine engines.
