4sp to automatic

Its been awhile since I have done this. I have an 85 GMC K1500 with a 4sp manual on 208. I was told that in this year range a 4wd TH400 will bolt in place of the 4sp manual. Does anyone know if this is for sure true before I go buy just a transmission?

You will need the TH400/208 adapter as well.
