4spd top cover question?

Will the late model sm465 top cover from 1988 and up fit older boxes? I am looking for the cover or the entire trans for 4x4 application with the tower offset towards the fire wall.

In answer to your question, Yes, the top cover is interchangeable.

I thought it moved the shifter tower towards the front of the cab not the rear.
