Like the title says, 700R4 in running condition with torque converter. I have no idea how many total miles are on it. It's a diesel tranny with 27-spline output. It's wired for manual lockup.

It's still in the truck, and I'll be pulling it the week of 22 Oct, as I'm swapping running gear. If you were to be in Ridgecrest, CA on the 22nd or 23rd you could drive it.

$150 plus shipping. Trades possible.

If you did drive it before you took it off, how was the shifting, firm, soft, was it banging in any gear?
I will be down in L.A. this week and I could swing by and pick up if you already pulled it.
PM me your info.

Is there a difference between the diesel 700r4 and the gas 700r4? I know it's a noob question, but I need a tranny!

The governor is set up differently (it can be modified for a gasser) and the torque converter is a low stall version (I think a stock diesel torque converter is something like 1400 stall, versus ~1800 for gas).

I do still own the transmission, and it's still in CA (93555) at a friend's house.

OlBattleBuggy had wanted me to ship it when I got back there, but so far I have not been back. As of now it looks like June of 2009 before that's the case. Unfortunately this is beyond my control.

If BattleBuggy wants it, he's still got precedence. I'll send him a PM and ask.
