I know everyone has been through this before but I can't seem to figure it out. Well my 4wd isn't working at all, neither 4HI or 4LO. My front drive shaft locks in place but my axle shafts don't lock so I essentialy don't have 4wd. Everything I read says to replace the 4wd actuator and go from there. The problem I am having is that everything I read says the actuator is in my front diff. I have been under there hundreds of times and there is nothing in the front diff. every pic I see shows the actuator in the front diff and mine does not have that at all. I don't know if it's because I have IFS or what the case is but I have no idea what I'm looking for. All help would be appreciated. It's a 1994 Blazer Sport.

prob on top side of shaft tube . its a round unit and prob 3-4 long . has a electrical plug on it .

unless someone has removed it and added in a posi-lock kit . then it will be cable only with a knob to pull and lock under the dash area in the cab .

now when you say blazer sport your saying full size correct ?

not s-10 blazer . cause they don't have a actuator like the 1500-3500 trucks . its a diaghram under the batt tray and a cable down to the diff and runs off a vac switch on the t-case.

Yeah it's full size. The sport is just a two door with long glass window all the way back and a flat black trim that runs the length of the Blazer on the bottom. Anyway it doesn't have a cable under the dash anywhere that I can see. I found two sensors, maybe actuators, that are on top of the transfer case. Not sure shat those are but that's all I see. Where would the actuator wires run to. Maybe I can start there and work my way forward.

top of front diff and then up to frame and up in engine bay .

have you searched google image for front actuator ?

maybe this will help .

here ya go .

diff is on floor as if in vehicle.

pass side axletube the round body on it and in to diff body .

Mine was doing this, is your fuse for the 4wd blown? In my case its immediately obvious when the transfercase light doesnt come on at all. Check the fuse it says 4wd.

It was the actuator. I feel stupid now because it was right in front of my face lol. For some reason I kept thinking it had to be on the back of the differential and I never looked on the side. Well I switched it out and it went right into 4WD. The best part is the one I bought has a lifetime warranty so all I have to do is pull up to autozone and give tem the old one and I get a new one. Thanks for the help guys. It was really appreciated.

Yeah me too. We're supposed to get freezing rain and sleet and a ton of snow tomorrow so I am glad I got it fixed before that. Now I just need new tires!
