4WD Hydroboost MC?

So i have been going through some info on which MC but it is confusing. From what i can tell i should get an MC from a 1993 C3500 4WD diesel (hydroboost) truck?

Can anybody confirm this?

I already checked that out but he is running a vacuum booster so i do not know if it will work well with hydroboost.
 
I just went to Napa, and asked for a hydroboost for a 91 Blazer.

Try just getting one for your truck, it should bolt right in and work perfectly.

AFAIK, there is no difference between a 2wd and 4wd hydroboost.
 
Hi, just noticed your talking about master cylinder, not booster. :doah:

Anyhoo, same answer. The master cylinder I'm using is the plastic kind and has an "opening" between the front and rear resi's that will let the fluid pass between them.

You still want a proportioning valve on the rear brakes with this setup though.

I understand what you are saying but what about when you are not towing?

If you have too much power to the rear brakes, the front brakes may never be fully utilized and the rear discs will be ground down in short order. (Ask me how I know ;-) There needs to be the proper ratio from front to rear no matter what you are doing with the vehicle. The front brakes are bigger for a reason and that reason is the forward weight transfer when you hit the brakes. Towing would hold that transfer back a bit but would also add a lot of weight of it's own.

Also, in inclement weather, with too much rear brakes you will fishtail much more easily. Think about applying your e-brake at speed, it would be a similar effect.

Your best option is to set up your brake system for the truck only, then add trailer brakes.

Thanks for the link, so basically i should stay with my MC but remove any residual pressure valves if possible, the reason i am asking is that my MC will not seal along the cover seal so i figured while i am getting a new one i could get one better suited for my 4wdisc application.

If you need a new one anyways, I'd still get one for your model truck. However, if you can find a 4 wheel disc MC for a decent price, why not.

You'll still need a proportioning valve in the line to the rear brakes no matter which MC you get though.
