anyone know? tracking down a steering issue, i'm down to changing out the box, but all i got is a 2wd one. will the 4wd pitman arm physically fit the 2wd shaft, or is it different altogether? I know the 2wd is held on by a nut, and the 4wd has a bolt that tightens the arm on. I realize the 2wd one wont fit the 4x4 shaft since its setup for 4 keyways, but didnt' know if the 4x4 one would go the other way. search hasn't helped on this specific problem yet.

You CAN replace the sector shafts between the boxes and make the 2wd box a 4wd box...

As 79k20350 says, you'll have to swap shafts. Good news: it's easy.

thanks, I knew I could swap the sector shaft, but I"m thinkig that may be part of the problem. when i got it it had a mile of play in the steering, and took alot of turns on the adjusting nut to get it close to anything. i'm thinking its worn the sector shaft maybe? guess i'll have to take it off and look. and I threw away 2 spare 4x4 boxes a few months back. :doah:
