I purchased a set of shocks over a year ago through a phone order from 4wheelpart's 800# and specifically told the guy I was installing a 6"lift and needed longer shocks. I have been collecting parts until I had everything and this weekend tried to put them on. At full extension they are about 3" from the mount fron and back. Not too happy.

I tried to call but the automated guy said I would be on hold for 25 minutes so I emailed them and to my suprise they not only emailed back but said I can go ahead and exchange them. Here's the email

not sure why its not coming up. ANyway, they said to ship them to Coppel Tx and they will send me the right ones. I only pay shipping to send them back. Hey, I can live with that.

I had to swap some springs and shocks I got online, just took them to the store. Didn't pay anything, they said they weren't suposed to do it that way but they did it anyway. Of course I didn't wait a year to return them...

Ive always had good relations with them on orders. Dont know why people bad mouth them so much.

Maybe because they screw us every chance they get. And then we have the phone droid who had to know what year make and model truck I had, so that I could order the Top Truck Challenge DVD =))

I got on different times winch, lift for jeep then lift for a truck, never missed a beat. I order most off the internet for the most part. Hell when I used my gift card they gave me with the winch, it was super easy. 2 day shipping. I dont work for them, hell the closest store is 6 hours away. I always get a real person when calling too. I may be lucky, but they would not be as big as they are if everybody had a hard time with them.......:doah:

I usually don't have a problem with them but i ordered 4 shocks and only got 2 in the mail i call and the guy said they should all be there so if they don't get here in the next few days someone better pay for them... UPS?

i have had great luck with them.phone order only though.i always get a human.:Di tried ordering online once and it didn't work??so i called and was billed twice. they took care of it quick.and CC how did the shocks arive? i get everything in one box usually. i HAVE had trouble with ups though. i ordered a cell phone and after two monthes with no phone i called the place i ordered it from and they gave me the tracking #.it was supossed to go to 2100 w 8 mile rd. in southfeild,MI. they had 2100 w telegraph rd. in springfeild MI???? there is no SPRINGFEILD MI??so the driver got as close as he could. 21400 southfeils MI.:doah:the guy that signed for it sent it to his main office in Rotchester MI. about 40 minutes away.a lady there finally opened it,did some research and called me at home to ask if i ordered a phone.WTF?? UPS-"we deliver as close to your address as possible".

4wp gets a bad rap over here because there is a big market for lifting new trucks and driving them around so the clerks could care less about a do it yourselfer because they really make no money of the diy guys. They really only care about selling a new lift kit or tire rim packages with installs. Oh, they also charge shipping for items shipped from there own warehouse to there own store, that really pisses me off.

that i didn't know.we don't have one in MI .but if we did i'm sure it would be the same.we had a local place called SPORT TRUCK USA. they were cool as hell.the store was about 30 minutes from here. then they moved to Pickney(nowheresville) about an hour from me.now they are gone.one guy i talked to got four 37in IROCKS for $320.00.:eek1: someone had them on lay away and never came back with the rest of the money. so they sold them for the difference!! they could have easily sold them at the full price.the guy that owned sport truck had his rig in 4wps offroad mag.it was the white crewcab with the SD axles.

Just wanted to let you guys know I DID get a new set of shocks to replace the wrong ones sent over a YEAR ago. No questions asked. I know alot of you have bad opinions about them but with the 2 probs I have had, they were quick to fix with no hassel so I felt like it was only fair to give them some positive recognition.

That is all!

It kind of sucks that you had to pay shipping to fix their mistake though. But at least they made good.

On another note, I think shipping packages and getting them in one piece depends alot on how they were packaged in the first place - correct addresses, adequate strapping, tape, etc..

I just had a no-so-great experience with them.

I ordered parts 2 weeks ago today. On Friday I still didn't have the tracking #, so I called. They hadn't shipped yet.

I asked if it was out of stock, and I was told, "No, they're in stock...we just haven't gotten to it yet."

Called back Saturday, was told they'd "probably ship on Monday."

Either way, I had to wait until I got back from vacation, and the part was no where near as nice as expected ("super shim" kit for my axle--didn't have very small shims--.010" was the smallest).

All in all, it took way too long and the product didn't live up to my expectations.
