Anyone happen to know the torque spec for the 4x4 style pittman arm pinch bolt? Chilton's seems to spec 165-185lbs but I have a hard time believing that given the bolt size.

Yeah, that sounds like the spec for 2WD.

If nobody posts up by the time I get home tonight, I'll look up the spec for you.

You read it right. 165 ft. lbs. for the pitman arm. Ask me, I know.

I had a Skyjacker drop pitman arm fail on me once and I sent it in for exchange. Turns out SJ has some kind of tool to test the torque readings on the arm and what they found out was that the bolt/nut were not tightened to specs. I wouldn't know because the arm was on the truck when I bought if from the PO. In the long run, I had to buy another new arm from SJ. This time I torqued the arm to 170 ft. lbs. so that if it fails again, SJ can't say I didn't torque it tight enough.
