4x4 problem

Ok so my 4x4 worked fine, recently got tagged in the pass side rear corner right above the tailight, smashed the part of the rear quarter above the taillight and part of the top.

Today which is 2 days later, 4x4 doesnt work. I engage the hubs, put it into 4wheel, and I can only get 3 or 4 feet before the truck just stops suddenly on its own and wont go anywhere.


Any suggestions?

If this is the 91 k5 in your sig I'm guessing something is broken in the front end if it binds up and stops.

Yes it is, and you mean something broken behind the diff cover as far as the gears?
That was my next move if I didnt get anything here, take the cover off and drain it, check the gears for something broken.

Common failure on the 10 bolt is the crosspin bolt breaking and allowing the crosspin to fall out of the carrier wedging against the diff housing. If the blazer runs around fine in 2wd (hubs unlocked) then I would start looking in the front diff.

You should be able to lock the front hubs and jack the front end up and just spin a tire to see if you can hear feel anything add on the front end.
