What plugs does everyone recommend??
As for tune up, other than to change plugs and wires what else is there that can be done on these newer engines.

just remember that the plugs are 100,000 mile plugs is there a reason you think you need a tune up?

Yeah, 293,000km and the last time I touched the engine was at about 160,000. Seems to be idling rough and have a snowmobile trip to the mountains planned so thought I should get it in shape for the 3500km trek.

ok, for plugs stay with delco platinums, also i would run some seafoam through the vacuum booster line with the engine running.

For the 100k service GM recommends plugs, wires, injector flush, engine decarb and throttle body service.

Is there a better set of wires that I should look for or what do you think? Never thought about the sea foam, never uused it before but will give it a try.

thanks

wires won't really make much difference because they are so short they are very low resistance to start with

The wires may pull apart when you try and pull them off of the plugs so have a set on hand. Any good brand of wires will do just fine.

As for plugs AC Delco or Denso (they are OE on some) only.

Pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator and make sure NO fuel comes out of the vacuum nipple, these regulators like to leak and will push fuel through the vacuum hose and cause hard starting, rough idle and check engine light to come on.

Post back if the rough running persists after the tune-up, there are a couple other things that will cause these to run rough.

OK so changed the plugs and wires today, wow I haven't seen plugs that bad for a while, plugs said leave at 40 gap and I checked the old ones they were about 65.

Probably should have done the sea foam prior to changing plugs, but anyhow what vacuum line do I disconnect to run the sea foam through?
