I what to do a 5.3 or 6.0 swap and run it on propane can it be done what do I need motor mounts. I have the propane setup. What about timing is there a stand alone computer to run the coil packs. I don't know. Need. Help

Thanks for the help that sounds like it will work what about motor mounts is there a company that makes them, dont you have to move the tranny and t-case forward ?

thats been covered. try a search i dont recall the name of the top of my head. but it was in the last month if i recall. and even had pics.

Do you have a current 350 in the truck..? I did my propane kit on my 358 and it runs great. Msd box, used propane kit = cheap 105 plus octane, i can run my 12.5:1 small block for 3.00 a gallon...lol

I'm running a 400 sb on propane now and it runs really good but its getting tired. Just dont know if i should do a 5.3 swap or rebuild what i got.

swap would be cool, way you options. See what way is better for you and your wallet.

My wallet is saying run the 400 intile death do us part. It still runs good just alittle smoke at start up i think the heads are shot.

Thats what i thought. Can't mess with it right now i will be doing some snow wheeling if we get my buddys commando done. I love the shop and working on the rigs but its time to wheel.

shut up :doah:

no truck on the road and messed up on medical leave.

and i cant go play in all the snow we got this year sofar. i am P!SSED :zombie7:

I'll make sure to post some pics. should be done with my buudys wheeler this week will be wheeling by next week.

I thought that people run propane because of the carbs cutting out on steep inclines. What would be the benefit of pulling the fuel injection off a 5.3 or 6.0 to run propane on it.

With propane there no computer to mess with. And i already have the propane set up in the truck the gas tank and fuel lines are all gone so it would be easyer to stay with the pane. 5.3 or 6.0 on propane would just be cool.

You still have to run some sort of ignition computer for the coils. but it sounds cool.

Not sure i think MSD makes somethimg like that. I think pacific fab does this swap. Ijust really want someting diffrent.

They also make a distributor to fit an LS.So you could go with a carb manifold for your propane and wala, your right back to 1950's technology:rolleyes:
