I'm doing a 5.3 swap into my 80 K5. I'm going to use a 700R4 behind it. My question is can I use the stock 5.3 flexplate or which one do I use?

stock 5.3 flexplate and a crank spacer

search google for 5.3 and crank spacer, summit sells it for around 45 bucks

Crank spacer? Can I get that alone from auto part store. I have the flexplate. It came with the engine

Crank spacers were used factory on the early 6.0L manual engines. So there is a GM part number floating around for one. Have to try and dig it up.

Someone mentioned the 6.0 but never told me it was on a manual tranny. Thanks for all the help guys.

You'll need a flexplate and spacer for a 6.0l w/4l80e. Part number for the spacer is 12563532, flexplate part number:12551367. Longer bolts are required part number:12563533 (qty 6).

It's not a real good idea just to space the 4l60e dished flexplate because the starter will be engaging on .400" less teeth and neither the starter nor the ring gear will last if it ever starts at all. The 4l80e flex plate is flat and is designed to be spaced .400" and still allow proper starter operation.
