I have a few questions as I am nearing the end of my 02 5.3 swap into the 83.
1. I would like to hook up the tow/haul function and I need guidance. I have a momentary switch and light to put in the dash. How do I wire this in?
2. What do I need to do if anything to make the alt work. I am using the factory 5.3 harness with little to no modifications. I am trying to keep the motor as isolated from the truck as possible. So will the PCM excite the alt or do I need to bring in the 83 wires to do this?
3. I am assuming the 83 brake switch is a ground switch. I need a constant 12v signal to the PCM and grounded by the brake switch. Can this be done with a relay? I am assuming so but not sure how to set it up. Is there a 12v signal I can use from the lock up converter in the 700?
4. Lastly I would like to hook up the cruise control. Is this as easy as buying the 02 control unit and wiring it to the control lever on the column? Is there a signal the 83 switches need from the PCM or vice versa?
I would like get the ac working as well but that is for another day.
