I'm just wondering if anyone has had regrets? I recently bought a wrecked 02 Tahoe for the interior, it's a complete running driving 2wd truck wondering if I should sell it after I get the interior out or tempt a motor swap?

I don't think you will find anyone who regrets swapping in something that adds almost 100 hp and torque over a smog 350.

From a mildly (vortec heads, cam, tune) built 5.7 tbi to a 2000 5.3, and enjoys the skinny pedal..... Not one regret.

Maybe decking the heads for a little bump in compression and doing a cam in my '05 5.3. But, I haven't even started it yet, so maybe not :D

Not doing the Blazer, but really, I can't even get the brakes done lol

Swapping the old 350 for the 5.3 was and still is the best thing I've ever done for ole blaze. It runs like a champ, no more gas smell in the cab ( unless the back window is down) wish I would have done it a lot sooner. You will definitely enjoy driving it around more.

The deal went bad real bad, got my money back but pretty pissed about the whole deal. I should've parted it out the day the deal was made . The guy I bought it from didn't have the title and the title holder took the dang wrecked truck.

Don't feel bad, 4 years ago I bought a wrecked M3 from a insurance auction only to have the police take it for evidence 3 months later after I started working on it. I almost didn't my money back for the original auction price.

Think its just because I need my tune adjusted. But I miss the torque of the 350 off idle and I was expecting better mpgs. I am currently getting the same or worse mileage than with the 350.

Wow! I'm getting 3-4mpg more and for the first time I can spin my tires off the line.

I have been mulling over this with my 94 K5. I can't see anything but upside to doing this. I had a 2003 Silverado with a 5.3 and that thing was an animal. My plan is do a 5.3 swap then a gear swap to 3.73 to get more power to the pavement. In theory it all seems pretty simple. My only thing is I have no idea what I need to do this. Obviously I need the engine, but I don't know what motor mounts I need or anything else. I read a bunch of threads about it but everyone just seems to already know what they need. My question I guess is where do I find all this information? Is there a website or maybe a book that walks you through it. Or do I just have to keep reading and piecing it all together? Does anyone sell a kit for it? And for the price would it be easier to just buy a built 350 that would fall right into place?

that's basically what i did. i dug around through CK5 and LS1tech threads looking for part numbers and ideas. i tried to post up all the part numbers i used in my build thread.
