Hello I'm doing a 5.3 swap in my 80 blazer. I believe I have evereyrhing I need to make it happen. The only thing I can't figure out is the fuel lines. How do I hook them up to the 5.3?

It will certainly be a custom job to some extentnt. Requiring new lines to be bent in one area or another. What year of truck are you working with?

You can purchase fittings made by aeroquip to convert the 5.3L's fuel rail from the factory slip on disconnects into -AN fittings. You can then make yourself stainless braided fuel lines to run from your engine down to your frame. Aeroquip also has fittings to convert a double flare to -AN. You can then use a double flare tool which can be rented from many part stores, or bought at any one of them for around $50.00 and double flare your factory fuel lines down on the factory side of the frame and simply hook everything up for a nice clean install!

I need to find out how to hook up the fuel lines coming into the fuel rails. Do I need to use metal lines or can I use flexible lines?

check out my buggy build thread. It has the info and part numbers you need

look in fabricators thread as a lot of info has been put in there.

for a simple fuel set up here is the common set up

(1) 98-2002 ish corvette fuel filter/ regulator at napa is 45.00
(1) 3/8 Fuel line repair kit from napa, part is 15.00
(1) fuel pump that can support 60-65 psi, I used the holly, summit sells for 110.00
(3) 3/8 to an fuel line adapter. summit has em for about 16.00 each
(1) 5/16 to an #6 fuel line adapter, summit, 16.00 each

the corvette fuel filter/regulator mounts after your fuel pump and regulates the flow to the fuel rails. This set up allows you to only run one line to your motor.

for the fuel line I use push lock hose and push lock #6 an fittings. The line will cost about 2.50-4.50 a foot. The straight az #6 push lock fittings are 4.50 and the 90 degree ones are around 12.00-15.00 you can obviously use steel braided rather than the push lock hose and fittings.

just noticed your local

loppers is where I bought the fuel fittings and adapters along with the fuel pump. If your in mesa sometime you can look at my buggy as it has a blazer frame under it and you can see how and what you need to do.
