The short rubber hose on what I think is the coolant crossover pipe is leaking. Anyone know if this is just generic hose cut to length or if there’s a pre-formed version? It’s the ~8” rubber hose to the right of my finger which is on a valve of some kind.

I have never seen that on a LS before. my Escalade does not have that part. nor does my 5.3.

I’m covering parts today at the shop. Post the last 8 digits of the vin and I’ll look it up in the gm parts system.

Never seen a egr port on driver side exhaust manifold here on east coast . So you must have a odd ball or cali equipment one .

There are no coolant hoses on the driver side of the engine.

Could be an air injection hose. Look at the drawing. 8D23BB64-2D66-4737-A786-8DC3A793BFDE.jpeg

part numbers don’t really matter as all the parts show discontinued now. Use bulk hose at this point.

Weird, the bad hose is #2 on that diagram and I have a little coolant (I assumed it was coolant) dripping out of it and I’ve been slowly loosing coolant. But it’s obviously not pressurized coolant. Motor has 290k miles on it so I’m obviously paying close attention to things that start to go wrong.

Only LS engines i am use to have a maybe 1/4" hose for head to throttle body crossover . Some early got a rear but its a hard line if i recall.

The rest of the cooling hoses are water pump down .

There’s one of these on each side of the motor and they are connected by a 5/8” hardline with a Tee on the passenger side which looks like it’s connected to something coolant related, but that was just a quick guess. I’ll check in the morning. Now I’m super curious what it’s for. If coolant is showing up where its not supposed to be, I may need to start checking the motor out really close. Maybe time for a rebuild or at least head gaskets.

That hose is part of the air injection system. Shouldn't have any coolant in there. I'd pressurize the cooling system to see how fast it loses pressure and see if you can tell where the coolant is going.
